Paul Hoskin, Managing Director
I am the Managing Director and have been in Financial Services all of my working life, originally starting with Nat West and working my way up to Area manager for the last 7 years. I then became a Director of an IFA firm, Hoskin Financial Planning Ltd in 2014.
With over 30 years’ experience and expertise, I have gained immense knowledge and expertise in financial matters, specialising in Pension and Retirement planning.
I have many long standing clients, both personal and corporate, which have been built up by offering flexible long term planning to match individual customer aspirations. This, along with the pride and dedication that I place on developing solid personal relationships with my clients, ensures that I am able to offer a rounded, professional and principled service.
I also enjoy professional relationships with Solicitors and Accountants with whom I can work with to enhance the services they offer to their clients. I understand the demands on these professionals when referring appropriate clients to myself, and pride myself on keeping my own professional knowledge and understanding up to date in creating solutions for these clients at important life stages and events.
Outside of my business, I am a keen golfer, I play the keyboard and the Saxophone.
Doug Richardson, Financial Planner
I am a qualified Financial Adviser with over 20 years of experience within the Financial Services Industry, currently based in Colchester Essex.
From our Frederick Charles Wealth Management office in Maldon Essex I provide advice to my clients, predominantly throughout Essex but also in other areas, having clients in Norfolk, Suffolk, and London.
I pride myself in being able to give advice in an easy to understand, jargon free manner.
Having been qualified to a high standard for a number of years, holding the Chartered Insurance Institutes Financial Planning Certificate, along with the Institute of Financial Services certificate in Mortgage advice and Practice, I have continued to study and have achieved Diploma status via IFS, Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) a higher qualification required by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to continue providing advice post 2012. I also hold the Equity Release* qualification allowing me to advise in this rapidly growing area of Financial Advice.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, enjoy an occasional round of golf, and am a keen Motorcyclist.

Stuart Phillips, Practice Manager
I have worked in Financial Services for over 25 years and I have spent the majority of that time managing a pricing team for a London based Asset Management company. I now head up the administration team at Frederick Charles Wealth Management, providing support to both advisers and clients.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and renovating my house, as well as being a keen cook.
Rob Clark, Financial Administrator
I have worked in Financial Services for over 26 years, in both Advisory and Management roles for companies including Standard Life, Lloyds Banking Group, and in the last few years for St James’s Place in a compliance function.
I am CII Diploma qualified, and I have a sound understanding of the industry. I assist the team to provide excellent service to clients.
I live locally and work part-time, and in my spare time I enjoy fishing, gardening and spending time with my family.
Rouan Wevers DipFA
“Having worked in financial services for a number of years, I got my qualification as a financial advisor and was happy to join the team at Frederick Charles Wealth Management. Throughout my career working in financial services, I have acquired a wealth of knowledge and skills in retirement and investment planning. I provide holistic advice in an easy to understand manner to my clients here in our office in Maldon, or at their home address. My advice covers retirement planning, investment planning, inheritance tax planning, life and wealth protection and mortgage advice.
I take great pride in finding the right solution for my clients, providing personalised advice and supporting them in reaching their financial goals.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing golf and supporting my local rugby club.
Rachel Hoskin
I am a non-advising Director who has been in Financial Services for most of my working life; I originally started with Abbey National in a junior role and worked my way up to a Mortgage Underwriter for the last 3 years of my career with the company. I then became a Director of my own Mortgage broker business in 2006.
With over 20 years’ experience and expertise, I have gained immense knowledge and expertise in the Mortgage Industry.
I have built up many long standing clients, both personal and business, which have been built up by offering a flexible and understanding approach to match the customers aspirations. This, along with the pride and dedication that I place on developing solid personal relationships with both clients and professionals.
Outside of work, I love to attend the Theatre and Concerts, and also enjoy spending time with my Cocker Spaniel, Sweep.
Lucy Goodwyn – Financial Adviser
I focus on providing face-to-face advice and offer a dedicated and personalised Wealth Management service to clients across Essex and beyond. I believe in building long-term client relationships that are built on trust and professionalism and understand that every client’s financial goals and circumstances are entirely unique to the individual. I specialise in retirement planning, investment planning, inheritance tax planning and intergenerational advice.
On a personal level I enjoy travelling and spending time with family & friends.
Oliver Cohen – Administrator
Following a week’s work experience at Frederick Charles Wealth Management in August 2022 I was offered the opportunity to join the Administration Team and to train to become a Financial Advisor. Since joining in October 2022, I am currently on a Financial Services Administrator Apprenticeship program for the next 12 months. Following on from completion of my apprenticeship I will then have a further three years of learning and exams to achieve a CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
Outside of work I am a keen sportsman. I enjoy playing as much golf as possible on weekends and I also play cricket in the summer for my local cricket club. In addition to sport, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
